7 Reasons to Revamp Your Website

Published On: March 2, 2024|Categories: kurl web, Web Design|5 min read|
Find out why you should revamp your website and take a look back at how kurl web’s own website has evolved through the years – even the busiest web agencies need to give their website a revamp, incorporating new content, design trends and technologies.

Why revamp your website?

A well-executed website redesign addresses your site’s content, user experience and search engine optimisation (SEO), while improving both appearance and functionality. The objective is to create a visually appealing website, offering visitors current information about your business.

If your website was built more than three or four years ago it’s likely that your business has evolved since then. The market has changed and the target audience’s preferences have also changed. With all these changes you can’t expect to keep your old website going and expect top results.

So what are the main benefits of a website redesign?

1. Enhancing Brand Identity

A cohesive brand identity is essential for any business, as it helps foster a connection with website visitors and promotes trust. Website redesign can significantly contribute to creating a consistent brand presence across your entire site. This may involve altering colours, visuals, and fonts, which affect the overall appearance of your website and revising brand imagery.

2. Increasing Sales and Conversions

The aim of each website is to get visitors. These can be converted into valuable leads or actual sales. Website redesign can help optimise your site for conversions, strategically place calls to action, and improve user experience. Creating a mobile-friendly website with specific calls to action and integrated lead generation forms will encourage web visitors to become leads, even if they’re not yet ready to buy.

3. Improved SEO and Site Performance

A thorough website redesign also addresses the website performance. By optimising page load speed, improving mobile responsiveness, and using efficient search engine optimization (SEO) approaches, you can improve site performance and visibility on search engine results pages. A well-implemented SEO plan and site performance increase the growth of organic traffic and improve the discoverability of your website.

4. Better User Experience

As a business owner, you are constantly looking for methods to improve your bottom line. One method to achieve this is to ensure that your website is designed to deliver the best possible user experience. The website redesign ensures that your current website is simplified for user experience and the whole strategy, design and navigation is designed keeping users in mind, leading to more customer satisfaction and sales ultimately.

5. Increased Credibility and Customer Trust

Customers have a lot of options. If people don’t trust or like what they see on your website, they can quickly switch to one of your competitors. A modern website that keeps up with the newest trends will give clients the idea that you’re a competent, reliable company that values offering a positive experience, resulting in greater customer trust and loyalty.

6. Improved Features and Functionality

Expanding functionality and features through website redesign can lead to better user engagement, improved user journey, and increased conversion rates. Potential functionalities and features that may be included in a website redesign include enhancing the e-commerce process, content journey, or even contact options. By adding new features and functionalities to your website, you can enhance the overall user experience and make it easier for visitors to interact with your site.

7. Communicating Business Changes

Your business might have introduced a new product or perhaps a whole new category of services. What about new team members or a new branch? Perhaps the business has explored interstate markets or found a new business partner for international clients. Do you have a place to share how you give back to the community? And the list goes on. A refresh should give treatment to these updates so your visitor can meet the current version of your business.

Our own website journey

Our own business website has undertaken quite the journey since we started our Hunter Valley website business back in 2010.

2013 – 2015

The first kurl web website built in Orchard an ASP.NET MVC platform part of the Microsoft stable. Different business name; same team as today!

2015 – 2018

As our design and copywriting skills expanded so did our website. Embraced the hero image, introduced one page per service of engaging copy, added some calls to action (CTAs) and a project showcase.

2018 – 2019

Out with the old and in with the new. Got skilled up in WordPress and have never looked back. Embraced fancy design elements including tables, animation, cool typography and the all important back-end SEO. Established a blog, and incorporated a newsletter signup.

2019 – 2023

Took our WordPress website to the next level. Created 3 different views depending on device (mobile. tablet, desktop). Invested in a professional photo shoot for website imagery to help tell the kurl web story. Introduced funky slider animation and smarts such as a domain availability lookup widget.

Our 2023 website launch! 🎉

Time for a snazzy new look! Rolled out updated copy, loads of calls to actions, landing pages, and trust elements (eg Google reviews). Showcase of our latest work and extent of our community outreach. Big push up on local SEO.
